Poker Forums http://www.pokerforums.org/
by admin on Aug.23, 2009, under Uncategorized
Poker Forums has well over 12,000 members so this is a site with a lot of traffic and a lot of discussion going on with the majority of the members being active on a regular basis. The threads are nice and varied, examples include ‘Glory Corner’ for those that have just come up trumps and want to boast a bit, ‘River Rats’ for the sore losers that need to vent a little and ‘Professionals & Tournaments’ where you can chat about your favourite top players and big tournaments.
They’ve also got a large collection of articles, book reviews and interviews with some of pokers head honchos. Not to mention an extensive video archive as well as frequently updated news section. Poker Forums is one of the most comprehensive resources online.
Poker is Rigged http://www.pokerisrigged.com/
by admin on Aug.20, 2009, under Uncategorized
Poker is Rigged, a pesimists name for a poker website site, but it is a well presented site none-the-less, and boasts over 3000 members and 2000 threads there’s plenty to keep even the average enthusiast interested.
Unfortunately the additional resources are somewhat lacking with little else in the form of information, no articles, or alternative site reviews and no blog. The news updates aren’t bad but there are far better out there. Worth a passing glance but not for long.
Gambling Gazette http://www.gambling-gazette.com/
by admin on Aug.17, 2009, under Uncategorized
Gambling Gazette. This is a well established casino site with a sterling reputation and it really does show. The news section is updated daily with relevant bits of information. There are over 3000 members so the forum is usually an area of excited debate with topics ranging from ‘is gambling a form of deviant behaviour or an extension of normal human nature?’ to ‘where to go for advanced poker strategy’. And with so many members it never takes long to get an answer when you post up a question.
However their reviews section is a joke, it seems they give five stars to any casino related website with little other information than what sign up bonus you acquire and when the site was created. This part of Gambling Gazette definitely needs to be improved, but other than that it’s one of the better online casino resources.
Strictly Slots http://www.strictlyslots.com/
by admin on Aug.14, 2009, under Uncategorized
Strictly Slots. This is a site that demonstrates the seedier side of online casino games but still has a few merits worth recognising. There are numerous free games if you fancy some spontaneous fun without the risk of losing money. It also has a very helpful ‘getting started’ page with advice and on how to find the best sites and the proper hardware and software to use when playing online.
Unfortunately the site lacks a blog or forum area where players could discuss tactics and swap tips etc, this addition would definitely provide some depth to the site.
Latest Casino Bonuses http://www.latestcasinobonuses.com/
by admin on Aug.11, 2009, under Uncategorized
One of the most extensive sites we’ve reviewed so far at Online Casino Communities. There’s an abundance of links and trivia on all your favourite casino games, plus a lively forum with exclusive contests and bonuses, there’s even a thread for site suggestions which is an excellent option.
Latest casino bonuses really does have a very comprehensive list of links for the best sites for each game, blackjack, poker, baccarat, craps, slots and sports betting. With so many people using it t seems to be reliable and respected in the casino community.
Only thing that could be improved upon is the general design which still harks back to frist dot com bubble, but now we’re just being superficial.
Casino Gossip http://www.casinogossip.com/
by admin on Aug.08, 2009, under Uncategorized
With in excess of 8000 members there’s plenty of lively debate on Casino Gossip and the forum’s buzzing with all sorts of tips, tricks and advice. One of the main advantages of having such a lively site is that if you post a question regarding any casino game then it’s likely to be answered pretty swiftly.
Not only is there a wealth of gossip and advice regarding all games but there are also threads that review other casino sites and gambling forums. After taking some time joining in with discussion and asking a few questions most members are polite and helpful, I didn’t encounter any abuse or malice so definitely a forum to get yourself involved in.
Winning Easy http://www.winningeasy.com/
by admin on Aug.05, 2009, under Uncategorized
Winning Easy. The sites title is very optimistic and perhaps more than a little misleading but the site itself is of a fairly high quality. For the most part this is just another aggregator site with a multitude of links to other gambling sites, casino directories and betting blogs. What really works for them is their layout design and navigation, it’s very easy to find the other resources on offer and their tournaments page has some good tips on where to find sign up bonuses and major games.
The glossary they’ve included is also a good addition, in the invent of being caught out on some casino jargon you can quickly reference their glossaries on poker, general casino and bingo.
These guys could do with their own forum section and encourage dialogue and discussion on their site rather than pointing elsewhere, but all in all a worth while aggregator.
Expert Casino Tips http://www.expertcasinotips.com/
by admin on Aug.02, 2009, under Uncategorized
Expert Casino Tips. Here there is a lot of useful content regarding how to play certain casino games, including tips on Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Poker and the Slots. There’s also a great deal of good advice on how to choose what casino site to play with, what you should for to confirm their credibility and what to watch for in case you’re being ripped off.
I wouldn’t disagree with the title of the site either, judging from the material and advice available it’s obviously come from veteran players who know their way round a real and a virtual casino.
This site could really benefit from extra features such as a regularly updated forum and/or blog as the information that’s available presently could get a bit stale after a year or two.
Jack Pot Hunters http://www.jackpothunters.com/
by admin on Jul.30, 2009, under Forums, Review sites
Jack Post Hunters is not a bad site but not great either. The first thing I noticed was that the ‘Online Casino News’ thread hadn’t been updated in over a month which is a pretty dire effort. However in the sites favour the variety of gambling subject matter is excellent, not only discussing tips and tricks for card games like poker and blackjack, but also several threads on sports betting too.
As additional resources go there isn’t much to be honest, no obvious newsletter or relevant links list. There are a few good threads with updated information on the latest tournaments taking place for both high rollers as well as the more cautious and frugal players.
Disappointing too that there were no posts in the actual Jack Pot Hunters zone of the forum, considering this is the name of the site you’d expect a little more action.
Casino Advisor http://www.casinoadvisor.com/
by admin on Jul.27, 2009, under Forums, Review sites
Casino Advisor describes itself as “the largest online casino guide” and although this would be hard to measure, Casino Advisor does indeed have a lot of useful content and is successful as an aggregator.
There is a wealth of information on other sites, blogs and forums and organises this data into accessible bite size sections such as ‘Casino Forum Watch’ where you can keep abreast of the latest trends and gossip from the betting world’s most recognised forums. Or swat up on the all important facts and figures using the ‘great bonuses’ section that quotes numbers of the casinos currently offering the best bonuses.
Definitely a worth while resource to check out for all the betting heads.
